Far North
A vast outback region underpinning South Australia’s resources, energy and strategic industries.
Overview
The Far North is a large and remote region of South Australia, characterised by its outback landscapes and strategic economic role. The region supports major industries including mining, renewable energy, transport, services, tourism, small business, pastoralism, and is home to nationally significant infrastructure and employment hubs.
Its scale, remoteness and economic assets shape a distinct set of regional priorities, requiring place-based approaches to workforce, infrastructure, investment and service delivery.
